When choosing a spot to spend your next holiday, you might find yourself overwhelmed with what seems like an endless selection of destinations from which to choose. You must first decide what you’re looking for: adventure, education, or relaxation. Very few places boast all three, but if you do your research you can find somewhere that has perks appealing to all travelers. Holidays only come around every once in awhile, so why not make it memorable? Do yourself a favor and consult a Fuerteventura travel guide. By choosing the unheralded majesty of this island paradise, you’ll find a destination that packs a lot of beach, culture, and action into a relatively small island environment.

Fuerteventura is the second largest member of the Spanish Canary Islands, set in the warm climate of the Atlantic Ocean. It is only slightly smaller than Tenerife, another member of the archipelago, and it is closest to the North African coast. Created 5 million years ago with molten rock solidified following the eruption of a hotspot volcano, Fuerteventura claims a geographically diverse landscape. The highest elevation, Mount Jandia, stands at over 800 meters above sea level and casts an imposing presence over the lowlands. Much of the island is very rural and rugged, and it is subsequently the least developed member of the Canary chain.

As with most island tourist destinations, Fuerteventura is best renowned for its ample beaches. The sandy coastline is the longest of the entire archipelago, with beaches that appeal to any traveler. In the resort districts of the island, you’ll find beaches teeming with tourists, but it won’t take too much searching to find some that are nearly deserted. And, if it’s nightlife or history you’re looking for, you’ll find that too. A Fuerteventura travel guide will tell you all you need to know to get you started as you plan a memorable holiday.
